Welcome to The Goblin Abyss!
An action RPG for IOS, the Goblin Abyss is being developed by the husband and wife team of Rich and Angie Cheek in Western MA. After moving to where ever the gaming industry took them for the first years of their marriage, it’s time for these two to stay in one place for a while and make a game that they want to play. Angie is working on the design, storyline (which is why the swords and magic, she is useless with FPS’s) while Rich produces the graphics, interfaces, and programming. With 20+ years in animation and technical direction and credits all over the entertainment industry, Rich knows his way around a game.
The goal of this blog is to shed some light on the dev process and hopefully get more people to explore making games on their own. We’re using Maya and Unity as the back bone of the project and will be producing video blogs as well as tutorials for different stages of the process. A technical director at heart, Richards first tutorials will be based on our animation rigs and work flow in Maya.
